App Store screenshot sizes, dimensions and requirements

The App Store screenshot size to upload for an iPhone app is a 6.9-inch set. Apple accepts 1320×2868, 1290×2796 or 1260×2736 portrait for that display. This generator exports 1320×2868. If the app runs on iPad, also upload a 13-inch set: Apple accepts 2064×2752 or 2048×2732, and this generator exports 2064×2752. Reviewed 23 September 2026 against Apple’s screenshot specifications.

App Store screenshot requirements around that table

Upload 1 to 10 screenshots per display, as JPEG, JPG or PNG. Landscape uses the same pairs reversed: 2868×1320 for the 6.9" size this tool exports, 2688×1242 for 6.5", and 2752×2064 for the 13" iPad. This tool’s canvases are portrait.

Apple’s own note on uploading says that if the interface is the same across device sizes, you can provide the highest-resolution screenshots and let App Store Connect scale them. A 6.5" set is the requirement only when 6.9" screenshots are missing. A 13" iPad set is the requirement when the app runs on iPad. This page does not list every older display class, because those are scaled from the sets above when you do not upload them.

App Store screenshot guidelines for the pictures themselves

Screenshots have to show the app in use. The first screenshot carries the listing in search, so put the clearest screen first. Status bars should be clean before you capture: full battery and signal, no personal notifications.

These dimensions are a restatement of App Store Connect Help, linked below. If Apple changes the table, the Help page wins. Sizes this tool does not export (1290×2796, 1260×2736, 1284×2778, 2048×2732) are listed so you can see they are valid, not so you can download them from here.

Google Play is a different size

Do not upload an App Store canvas to Play. Play phone screenshots that qualify for recommendation modules are 1080×1920 (9:16) or 1920×1080 (16:9), and this tool also exports a 1600×2560 tablet canvas. The Play Store screenshot size rules, including the rejection of 1080×2400, are at https://freeappscreenshots.com/google-play-screenshot-guidelines.

The same three classes. 6.9" is the iPhone set to provide. 6.5" is required only when a 6.9" set is not provided. 13" is required when the app runs on iPad. Reviewed 23 September 2026.
